Technically, it should be placed vertically. Yup you can lay it on it’s side. Does not change anything.
How do you transport a computer safely?
Packing the Monitor:
- Get a box that’s properly suited for your monitor.
- Remove the stand from the screen and pack it separately.
- Wrap the monitor in either bubble wrap or a towel before putting it in the box.
- Place the monitor in the box and fill any void space with packing peanuts.
Is it safe to transport a PC in a car?
A desktop PC is expensive, bulky, and fragile—three things that can make it scary to transport in your car. The back of a moving truck isn’t an ideal place a for desktop computer, including those that are wrapped up properly. There’s simply too much room for something to go wrong.

Can’t let them out of my sight so in the knapsack they go, power cables, mice, USB cables and the lot. The only thing that gets TSA to look at my bag a second time is if the power cables are a rat nest. Wrap them up nicely and no worries.

Hi Abhishek, you can carry the Monitor/CPU in check-in baggage. Please note, one piece of hand baggage of up to 7 kg (including laptop) and one piece of check-in baggage of up to 20 kg shall be allowed per passenger for domestic travel.

Maximum size of LED / LCD TV that shall be accepted for carriage is 139.7 cms. The checked-in baggage weight (including that of TV(s)) in excess of the free baggage allowance will be charged at the applicable Excess Baggage rate. - Step 4: Bubble wrap the sound system.
- Step 5: Carefully pack the sound system into a moving box.
- Step 6: Securely seal the box with tape and label as fragile.
Can you take a subwoofer on a plane?
I have checked in and brought a HTIB, a KEF 5.1 speaker system and also a 2.1 PC speaker system all with sub-woofers from the U.S. without any problems. The TSA will probably open it up to check the contents but other than that you should be fine.
Are speakers allowed in check-in baggage?
